If you fail a trap hits you with damage and sometimes a status effect (debuff) for a couple minutes. Its the art of unlocking locked chests such as Paragon Chests, Treasure Chests and Dungeon. But the concept is that when the filling bar intersects a symbol you hit that symbol (somewhere on interface). Lockpicking is a Skill that you can raise to a maximum of 100 (GM). I don't remember all the details so I can't tell you exactly where things are in the interface. I named them all my names so in my head I would know "gear is second" or whatever. But when the bar itersects each symbol you have to click that symbol. So when you hit the 'go' button a bar gradually fills. So if you don't have enough see skill it will be darker and if it is totally dark I think impossible to pick. This helped me memorize the order (which is different arangement of a pool of like 10 types of symbols for each lock and each attempt). My strategy was to have a name for each symbol based on how it looked. The see skill lets you see the pattern of symbols. Revisor, if I recall and if the system didn't change in this release then there are two skills to level up for locks.
